I came across your website and blog when I was looking at John's Linked-In page. I love your paintings and am so impressed that you 2 are making the circuit! I also noticed that you give art classes. I'd love to catch up with you. I am doing the difficult balance of trying to make income, do my art, and oversee my kids' lives in general and all of their extracurricular activities. I have been asked by several people if i do classes for kids and have considered it but don't know how to juggle it all. So hard to find work time. How do you do it? Out of your house?
I'm in touch with Beth over the last year through Artbox (which you must know), so that's been great. I've always hoped to do book illustration and am trying to keep 1 foot in that door while trying to find ways to make more immediate income. I fill-in for the public art teacher and have a connection with a shop in Amherst where I'm selling (or trying to) framed prints of hand-colored insect prints. Check out my website if you haven't. I've also recently been hoping to find work as a nature illustrator and have possibly a local lead but freelance is so tough when time is so limited!
Anyway, just wanted to say hi. I'm so impressed that you're getting commissioned work while being the jack-of-all-trades with motherhood. Are you still working in publishing? Best wishes with it all. Please say hi to John for me. He seems like he's doing well in his career, too. Drop me a line sometime if you get a minute. Thanks!
